Why choose prints?
As a Billings, MT Photographer, one belief I am truly passionate about is making sure my clients have images they love and can enjoy every single day!
I have a confession to make – I have a bag, a large plastic bag. This raggedy old bag holds all of my old prints. These prints are haphazardly thrown inside of this bag, my friends. Every time I pull that bag out and go through old photos, which happens to be 2-3 times a year, the photographer in me is quite embarrassed, due to my less than desirable preservation method, but the mother/wife/daughter/sister/granddaughter/etc in me, I am overjoyed by my collection.
This reminds me, I need a better photo preservation method, STAT!
I have been taking photos of my teens since they were born. I have mounds and mounds of photographs, mostly from film. Fortunately, I don’t have many that are stuck on old hard drives, floppy disks or USBs. I get to sift through our memories often.
As I shuffle through these photos, which are in no particular order, I see just how my babies have grown, fun times we’ve had, grandparents who have passed, I get all the feels going through these images and it never, ever gets old.
Im sure your iPhone is loaded to the max with all of the fun, cute, exciting, Im guessing even mundane moments in your life. Though, I am a firm believer in hanging on to these moments, my goal, as your photographer, is to help you with options in enjoying and preserving your most memorable moments, for years!
This is where, I, your photographer, come in.
Here is an blurb from my “Investment” page on my website and it gives a little insight in my experience and my reasoning to print:
Do you ever sit and share old photographs of you as a child with your children? Maybe silly photos of their aunts or uncles as children? More importantly, do you share photographs of family members who have passed. Maybe grandparents, great-grandparents or even older? I know I do, and often!
My grandfather had film reels. He was “ahead of his time”. Unfortunately, because these old reels are uncommon nowadays, viewing these photos are almost impossible.
My grandmother was a huge VHS buff. She taped every occasion, birthday, wedding, baptism on these huge contraptions. These are a thing of the past!
We are in a fast-paced digital world, and it’s constantly evolving. Do you have documents or photos on old floppy discs? These are obsolete as well. When you only purchase digitals, on a USB or disk, you run the risk of possibly not having access to these images at some point in the future. How will your children’s children ever enjoy these old photographs? How will they know who they resemble? How will they know their history?
The solution? PRINT.
Selcting a Collection and printing your images, you’re investing in future generations by making these prints available to your loved ones. Give your children the gift of family and love, for years to come.
