Congratulations on the news, I hear you’re expecting! Let’s plan a Newborn Session!
There are a few types of Newborn Sessions to choose from. All different, but all done within the first 2 weeks of delivery.
The first few weeks after your child is born are life changing. It’s as if your whole world has opened up and you’ve discovered that life wasn’t as bright or colorful before your baby entered the world.
In-Studio Newborn: The most popular, In-Studio sessions are done at my studio, in Park City, where we spend up to 4 hours photographing your little one using all our in-house props and anything else you’d like that may be special or meaningful to you or your family. Newborn photos are taken within 2 weeks of birth, taken shortly after you return home from the hospital or birthing center. Contact me as soon as you give birth and we will schedule your appointment.
Fresh 48: A lifestyle sessions of your baby’s first day. Within 24-48 hours, while still at hospital, birthing center or home, I will capture all of the people most important to you, getting to know your little one.
This is an opportunity to record the day we most often don’t remember, with all the excitement and newness of this little one. The treasured story of siblings meeting and holding their new baby, grandparents getting their long-awaited cuddles in, all the new fingers and toes and, of course, mommy and daddy finally getting to know their little bundle of absolute joy. This is different than a newborn session in that are no props or poses, just your new baby and their family, loved.
Lifestyle Newborn: This session takes place in your home, where your most comfortable. I want to capture what you’re feeling. I want to document the looks exchanged between mother, father and baby. They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, but I contend that a picture is worth far more. A picture captures impalpable essence. In addition to snapping some photographs of you both with baby, my newborn sessions also include a series of photographs taken of just your newborn. For example, I like to get details of wee little feet, a tiny hand clasped around dad’s finger, that button nose and tuft of fluffy hair. In addition to the details, I’ll also photograph your newborn resting peacefully. Perhaps in a cozy, comfortable nook or on top of the blanket he’ll sleep with for years to come. My camera knows no bounds.
I am so excited to speak with you about your new little one and your plans for documenting their first days!
